A huge congratulations to the ensemble’s five outstanding high school seniors & their instructors:

Casimir Riley — Baritone Saxophone, Ronald Reagan High School
Isaiah Jones, Jr. — Piano, Milwaukee High School of the Arts
George Davis — Alto Saxophone, Whitefish Bay High School

The Batterman five are among only three jazz combos chosen from specialized schools and programs such as the Conservatory’s Jazz Institute and will compete against 11 other ensembles from around the US. The festival honors legendary bassist & composer Charles Mingus.
